Introducing Immersive's Development Tracker, A Film And Television Job Resource
The next phase of the site is to provide subscribers with current production info sourced by our team...
This Substack launched over a year ago as a home for cast-and-crew coverage. Over the past year, we have featured interviews with actors, writers, directors, art directors, cinematographers, costume designers, editors, hair & makeup artists, composers, sound editors, sound mixers, and many others. The site has been a testament to the craft of filmmaking on an authentic level, featuring conversations that showcase not only excellent work but the unique individuals behind the curtain.
It was always our intent to make this about more than just current projects; with this in mind, there have been stories about restoration, preservation, festivals, and repertory screenings. It has been a pleasure to be a part of a growing film community on this site. We aim to get into every area of the complex, frustrating yet endlessly fascinating industry of dreams. It is our goal to cater to like-minded individuals who work in film and then attend screenings, events, and meetups afterward...
Our next step is our development tracker, which gives industry-savvy heads-up on what’s in the pipeline, newly announced, or moving fast toward cameras. Sourced by industry professionals with the intent to share. This is in beta and currently free for subscribers; please subscribe to receive it roughly every Friday. Ideal for seasoned veterans and accessible to those entering the industry, especially crew people. There has been a lot of doom and gloom about the current state of things, so we hope this will be useful to all.
So here is the first development tracker post...
1. UNTITLED MEGAN PARK FILM (fka “Die Alive”)
Format: Film Phase: Financed / Pre-Production
Start Date: Summer/fall 2026 (FilmNation greenlit before sale; Apple acquisition closed April 1, 2026 — exact start not announced publicly)
Primary Location(s): Not announced publicly. Rumored/Industry chatter: likely North American shoot based on Park’s pattern (My Old Ass filmed in Ontario)
Logline: A woman discovers her boyfriend has a secret wife and kids when they unexpectedly show up on her doorstep — a situation that somehow turns into something far messier, funnier, and more dangerous than anyone planned. Think Big Daddy meets Stepmom, with a Megan Park emotional gut-punch underneath.
Key Attachments:
Writer/Director: Megan Park (My Old Ass, The Fallout)
Cast: Zoë Kravitz (confirmed June 2026)
Producers: Tom Ackerley & Bronte Payne for LuckyChap Entertainment (Margot Robbie’s company); FilmNation Entertainment co-producing
Studio: Apple Original Films (won competitive bid over WB, Sony, Universal, Amazon, Netflix)
Apple Studios - 8777 Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232 phone: 213-840-3397 snewberg@apple.com
FilmNation Entertainment (LA) - 6430 Sunset Blvd, Suite 1025, Los Angeles, CA 90028, USA phone: 310-859-0088
LuckyChap Entertainment - 4000 Warner Blvd, Building 144, Bungalow 3 Burbank, CA 91522 phone: 323-238-8501
Why it’s notable: This is LuckyChap’s third Park collaboration, Apple is fully behind it, it has a bankable star, and it was independently greenlit before the studio deal — meaning it’s moving no matter what. Once a shoot date locks, department calls should come fast.
2. UNTITLED DYLAN BRADY EROTIC THRILLER (formerly “Discretion”)
Format: Series (limited or ongoing — format not yet confirmed)
Phase: Scripted / Early Development
Start Date:Not announced publicly. Per Maxblizz citing trades: “Filming is set to begin this fall” — treat as industry chatter, unconfirmed by A24
Primary Location(s): Not announced publicly. Likely Los Angeles, given the Hollywood-set premise — industry inference only
Logline: A struggling actor takes a nannying job for a high-powered Hollywood producer and her movie-star husband, intending to seduce them both and exploit their connections — but finds himself caught in something far more sinister. Eyes Wide Shut meets Sunset Boulevard through a decidedly queer lens.
Key Attachments:
Writer: Dylan Brady (Brit List #2, 2025; acting credits in Andor, The Diplomat)
Cast: Nicole Kidman in early talks (not confirmed)
Director: Not yet attached — the biggest open question
Production: A24 (seven-figure preemptive deal)
Producer: Joe Hipps (A24-based)
A24 - 750 N San Vicente Blvd Red Building, West Tower, Floor 12, West Hollywood, CA 90069 phone: 323-900-5300 infola@a24films.com
Why it’s notable: This is A24’s next potential Babygirl — same genre, same star in talks, same prestige-but-spicy positioning. If Kidman locks and a director attaches, this moves into prep very quickly given A24’s efficient production cadence.
3. “THUNDER ROAD”
Format: Series (Drama)
Phase: Pre-Production → Production
Start Date: August 28, 2026 (confirmed — IATSE Local 479 notice; Riverwood Studios, Senoia, Georgia)
Primary Location(s): Metro Atlanta, Georgia (Riverwood Studios, Senoia as home base; EchoPark Speedway/Atlanta Motor Speedway for race sequences)
Logline: A multi-generational NASCAR dynasty — the Whitlocks — fights to survive as the patriarchal racing legend “The Wrecking Ball” refuses to let his empire die while ruthless rivals close in. Think Succession with stock cars and moonshine roots.
Key Attachments:
Creator/EP: John Fusco (Young Guns, The Highwayman)
Showrunner/EP: Taylor Elmore (Justified, Tulsa King)
EPs: Cliff Roberts, Mark L. Smith (The Revenant, American Primeval), NASCAR’s Tim Clark & John Dahl (The Last Dance)
Cast: Dennis Quaid as Duane Whitlock “The Wrecking Ball”

Why it’s notable: Confirmed August 28 start date in Senoia, Georgia. Atlanta-area crew: this is a lock. The NASCAR partnership means actual track access and a built-in audience of millions — not a speculative greenlight.
4. “EXTRACTION 3”
Format: Film (Streaming)
Phase: Production (filming began June 2026)
Start Date: June 2026 (confirmed; production listing); filming wraps approximately October 9, 2026
Primary Location(s): Sydney, Australia (primary base); Europe (additional locations — specific cities not publicly confirmed)
Logline: Tyler Rake and the expanded Extraction universe return for a third chapter, with black-ops mercenary Rake (Hemsworth) back on a mission alongside Idris Elba’s enigmatic “Man in the Suit,” this time set largely in Australia and Europe.
Key Attachments:

Why it’s notable: Already in cameras. Sydney-based crew should be aware this runs through October. Both prior films are in Netflix’s all-time most-watched list — this is one of the platform’s highest-priority productions.
5. “HARRY POTTER” — Season 1
Format: Series (Drama / Fantasy)
Phase: Production (filming in progress; Season 1 expected to wrap spring 2026, followed by Season 2 prep)
Start Date: July 2025 (confirmed; HBO official announcement); Season 1 wrap estimated spring–mid 2026; Season 2 production expected to start early September 2026.
Primary Location(s): Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, UK (confirmed base); additional UK locations
Logline: A faithful, long-form adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s seven-book series — one season per book — beginning with Harry discovering he’s a wizard, arriving at Hogwarts, and confronting Voldemort for the first time. Showrunner Francesca Gardiner (Succession) and director Mark Mylod (Succession, White Lotus) are leading what is designed to be a ten-year prestige franchise.

Warner Bros. Television - 4000 Warner Blvd. Burbank, CA 91522 phone: 818-954-6000 recruitadmin@wbd.com
Why it’s notable: The biggest prestige TV production currently underway on the planet. Season 2 prep is expected immediately following Season 1 wrap — UK-based crew should be monitoring both. Department heads are set; below-the-line opportunities will be significant for Season 2 onward.
6. “BEHEMOTH!” (Feature Film)
Format: Film
Phase: Post-Production (principal photography wrapped January 23, 2026)
Start Date: Principal photography began October 27, 2025 in Los Angeles; wrapped January 23, 2026
Primary Location(s): Los Angeles, CA (entire production)
Logline: A cellist from a multigenerational family of movie composers returns to Los Angeles, and through a nonlinear, music-driven story structure, unpacks two decades of departure and return. Tony Gilroy (Andor, Michael Clayton) called it “a love letter to the music of the movies and the people who make it.”
Key Attachments:
Writer/Director: Tony Gilroy
Producers: Tony Gilroy, Sanne Wohlenberg, John Gilroy
EPs: Eric Roth, Shane Salerno
DP: Damián García (Andor)
Cast: Pedro Pascal, Will Arnett, Eva Victor, Olivia Wilde, Matthew Lillard, Margarita Levieva, Alexa Swinton

Searchlight Pictures - 10201 W. Pico Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90035 phone: 310-369-3412
Why it’s notable: A24’s competition in prestige fall 2026 — this is Searchlight’s likely awards-season anchor with a gifted filmmaker making his most personal film. Post-production crews and composers in LA should note this is a complex, music-heavy post process.
7. “HEAT 2”
Format: Film
Phase: Pre-Production (filming targeted August 3, 2026)
Start Date: August 3, 2026 per director Michael Mann’s public statement to The Guardian; not yet confirmed by studio press release — treat as stated intent
Primary Location(s): Los Angeles, CA (77-day shoot); Chicago, IL; Paraguay; Singapore / Batam, Indonesia
Logline: A dual prequel-sequel based on Mann and Meg Gardiner’s 2022 #1 NYT bestseller — following a younger Neil McCauley and his crew in 1980s Chicago while also picking up after the events of the 1995 original, tracing Chris Shiherlis into the criminal underworlds of Southeast Asia. Massive in scale, multi-continent, and likely Michael Mann’s final blockbuster.
Key Attachments:
Writer/Director: Michael Mann
Producers: Michael Mann, Jerry Bruckheimer, Scott Stuber, Nick Nesbitt
EPs: Eric Roth, Shane Salerno
Cast: Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Stephen Graham, Jason Clarke (additional casting ongoing)
Studio: United Artists / Amazon MGM Studios
California Film Commission: $37.2 million tax credit approved for 77-day LA shoot

Amazon MGM Studios - 9336 W. Washington Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232 phone: 310-573-2305 amazonstudioscontactus@amazon.com
Why it’s notable: A 77-day Los Angeles location shoot led by Mann, with Bruckheimer producing and DiCaprio and Bale starring, receiving $37.2M in California tax credits — this will be one of the largest LA productions of 2026–2027. LA-based crew should start monitoring this closely now.

Format: Film (Live-Action/Hybrid)
Phase: Development (treatment stage; rights newly at Legendary)
Start Date:Not announced publicly

Scholastic / Scholastic Entertainment Scholastic corporate address: 557 Broadway New York, NY 10012
Why it’s notable: Legendary is currently one of the most active major production companies (Dune: Part Three, Digger with Tom Cruise, Magic: The Gathering). This is a brand-new announcement — very early, but Legendary moves quickly when motivated, and Banks/Letterman is a genuine commercial package.
9. “GHOSTBUSTERS: NIGHT SHIFT” (Netflix Animated Series)
Format: Animation (Series)
Phase: Development / Production (first look revealed at Annecy Festival, June 25, 2026)
Start Date: Not announced publicly
Primary Location(s): Animation — production facility not publicly specified; Netflix/Sony Pictures Animation
Logline: Set in the early 1990s — the gap between the 1984 original and 1989’s Ghostbusters II — a new generation of Ghostbusters takes over from the retired original team (Venkman, Stantz, Spengler) as NYC teeters on the edge of gentrification and the paranormal. Dan Aykroyd is on board as executive producer.
Key Attachments:
Director: Ivan Reitman’s son is behind the creative vision (per Annecy remarks); concept art and first look revealed
EP: Dan Aykroyd; Ivan Reitman’s estate involvement
Studio/Streamer: Netflix / Sony Pictures Animation

Netflix - 5808 Sunset Boulevard, 12th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90025 phone: 310-734-2900 lahiring@netflix.com
Why it’s notable: Brand new, announced today. Netflix and Sony Pictures Animation is a significant IP partnership. If production is underway, this is an animation job hub — and the nostalgia hook gives it real marketing legs.

Phase: Development / Early Production (announced at Annecy, June 25, 2026)
Start Date: Not announced publicly
Primary Location(s): Not announced publicly; Warner Bros. Animation

Key Attachments:
Showrunner/EP: Scott Snyder (Absolute Batman comic writer)
Producer: Nick Dragotta (Absolute Batman artist)
Overseeing: Sam Register (WB Animation President), Peter Safran (DC Studios Co-Chair)
Studio: DC Studios / Warner Bros. Animation
Warner Bros. Animation - 4000 Warner Blvd, Burbank, CA 91522 phone: 818-954-6000
Why it’s notable: Peter Safran and James Gunn are personally involved in this announcement — DC animation is back in a big way, and this is the flagship new project. If the Gunn-era DC momentum holds, this will be fast-tracked.
LONG-LEAD RADAR PICKS
Three to six projects most likely to move into active prep and hiring in the next 60–120 days — with start dates and locations called out explicitly
#1 — “THUNDER ROAD” (AMC / NASCAR Studios) Why it tops the list: This has the single most concrete confirmed start date of any new project on this list. IATSE Local 479 has the call: August 28, 2026, Riverwood Studios, Senoia, Georgia. The NASCAR partnership means actual race access, practical stunts, and a show that has to look real at 200 mph. Atlanta-area crew — this is your summer. Director lineup beyond the pilot hasn’t been publicly confirmed, so key dept head slots may still be open.
#2 — “HEAT 2” (United Artists / Amazon MGM) Why it’s here: Mann told The Guardian “right now we’re looking to start August 3” in Los Angeles. 77 days of LA location work with a $150M budget, $37.2M in California tax credits, DiCaprio, Bale, and Bruckheimer — this will be one of the biggest productions to hit LA streets in years. Full cast is still being finalized as of late May 2026, which means the below-the-line hiring wave hasn’t peaked yet. LA-based crew: put this on active watch now.
#3 — UNTITLED MEGAN PARK FILM (Apple Original Films / LuckyChap / FilmNation) Why it’s here:The film was independently financed before Apple even bought it. That means it was already scheduled for summer/fall 2026 and the acquisition doesn’t slow it down — it speeds it up. Zoë Kravitz just attached (June 2026). Apple tends to move fast once packaging locks, and LuckyChap runs tight, efficient sets. Start date hasn’t been officially announced but the trades’ “summer or fall 2026” framing makes this imminent. Location TBD — watch for crew calls in Canada or Los Angeles.
#4 — “HARRY POTTER” Season 2 (HBO / Warner Bros. Television) Why it’s here: Season 1 has been filming at Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden, UK since July 2025 and is expected to wrap mid-2026. HBO confirmed back-to-back seasons are planned due to the child cast’s natural aging. Season 2 prep will begin essentially as soon as Season 1 wraps — meaning UK-based crew should be thinking about availability windows now. The scale (practical creature work, design, stunts) and the guaranteed multi-season run make this one of the most stable long-term jobs in UK production.
#5 — UNTITLED DYLAN BRADY / A24 EROTIC THRILLER (A24) Why it’s here: A24 moves fast after acquisitions — see Trigger Point (acquired → packaged → sold to Netflix in one motion). The script is done, the star is nearly locked, and the only missing domino is a director. Once that attaches — which could happen any month — this will go straight to prep. One source suggests “filming this fall,” which would mean production crew calls could come as soon as August–September 2026. Hollywood-set premise means Los Angeles is the most likely primary location.
#6 — “9-1-1” Season 10 (ABC / 20th Television / Ryan Murphy Television) Why it’s here: Writing began in June 2026. The show’s own production wiki lists filming as expected July 2026 in Los Angeles, continuing a decade-long pattern of summer production starts. The California Film Commission has approved the series for tax incentives, adding another layer of confirmation. This is a well-oiled machine — same crew, same locations (Fox Studios Lot, Pico Blvd.; various LA streets), same department heads in most categories. If you’ve worked on prior seasons, your phone may already be ringing.
